Trash Skeleton (she/her) presents three unique plays written and directed by her alongside a lovely troupe of actors! 

The performance will be about an hour and fifteen minutes long with short breaks in between.

The first play is called “She’s looking up the symptoms online” and is about a woman needing to get over her ex by using a surrealist version of omegle/chatroulette. She explores her emotions and past relationship while talking to a tree, a masturbator, an anarchist who can fly and a whole lot more! 

The second play is “Replacement home” and is about an anarchist needing to find a new building to squat for her radical family about to get evicted. The play takes several fourth wall breaking turns as things go horribly wrong but maybe you can help them squat in the end?

The third play is called “Trips to the void” and is about a trans woman coming to terms with herself as she takes acid and the void inside her consumes all the people invited to trip with her. This is about chosen family and coming to terms with who you are instead of being ashamed and alone!

Our goal in performing is to share our love of art, politics and writing to a radical audience around the world. So we will be using any money we make during these performances to fund trips to different alternative spaces around the Netherlands and even hopefully abroad!

This theatre workshop aims to gather around the necessity of grassroots, multidisciplinary, multilingual, transcultural artistic expression based on theatre, music, singing, visual arts, voice and body performance.
We explore the basics of the performative practice: posture, movement, presence, body, the other in the space, games and the voice in many of its expressions.
Our voices engage in spoken word, text and poetry to reach the poetry performance: from poetry to theatre.
Our bodies will play roles and will accompany impros and storytelling. Our practice will originate from ourselves: memories, stories and sounds of stones and steps, images of repopulated land, memories of touching each other, smell of seaweed.

The workshops aim to build communities and commonalities with theatrical, performative pedagogies, As a cultural space of Lola Lieven, we are engaged in creating a connected neighbourhood. With this series of workshops, we would like to give space to different backgrounds of people, people with refugee, undocumented experiences, activists, artivists, elderly and young people and different identities. Racialised backgrounds have priority in the space of Lola Lieven. 

Theatre as Communal Experience is open to neighbourhood residents of Lola Lieven but also to anyone willing to participate. No artistic background is required, we only aim at creating community and awareness.

We are hosting free workshops on the theory and practice of the Theater of the Oppressed! The workshop is in English and split into two parts of each 6 hours on two seperate days. The Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) is a participatory theater that fosters democratic and cooperative forms of interaction among participants. TO invites people to become “spect-actors,” capable of taking action and using theater as a rehearsal space for social transformation.  Our workshops employ a variety of processes based on Theatre of the Oppressed, developed by world-renowned theatre-maker, activist, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Augusto Boal, to define issues, clarify objectives, build skills, and rehearse practical action.
Boal believed that “we are all theatre” because, as human beings, we can all act, watch ourselves acting, and based on what we see, change what we do. Changes in our actions can, in turn, change the world around us. Theatre of the Oppressed provides a process for testing actions which can transform the groups, communities, and social systems in which we work and live. It is a rehearsal for change.
Constructive dialogue provides the route to discovery, but words alone limit the scope of discussion and short-circuit the experiences needed to test the impact and practicality of actions. Applied Theatre uses whole-body/whole-mind activities to assist groups to clearly identify problems and actively rehearse solutions. The workshops release potential in individuals while building group cohesion and promoting positive change. Initiating more than just a dialogue, the process frees the thinking of participants and awakens their abilities to move toward agreed upon goals.
